Movie stars Donald Sutherland and Michelle Rodriguez in an adaptation of a book co-authored by Eckhart Tolle

TORONTO, ON (November 19, 2015) – Momentum Pictures today announced that it has acquired the worldwide distribution rights to the highly anticipated feature film Milton’s Secret – based on the children’s book of the same name, co-authored by Eckhart Tolle.  The Buck Productions and Hulo Films project, which is currently in post-production, stars Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games franchise, Forsaken, The Dirty Dozen) and Michelle Rodriguez (The Fast and Furious franchise, Avatar, Machete Kills).
“Participating in a book-to-screen adaptation of this caliber is an exciting opportunity for our company,” said Berry Meyerowitz, President, Momentum Pictures.  “We look forward to building off the story’s pre-established success and delivering it to audiences around the globe.”
Emmy® award nominee Barnet Bain wrote the script and is also directing Milton’s Secret.  The film’s supporting cast includes David Sutcliffe (Gilmore Girls, Cracked), Mia Kirshner (The L Word, 24, Black Dahlia), Sheila McCarthy (Orphan Black, Little Mosque on the Prairie, Die Hard 2), Hays Wellford (Cop Car, Independence Day: Resurgence), and William Ainscough (The History of Love, Zapped), playing Milton.
Based on the story by Eckhart Tolle, Milton’s Secret follows the life of young Milton (Ainscough), who is bullied at school.  His teacher (Rodriguez) does her best to uplift his spirits and inspire him under difficult circumstances, but it is his grandfather (Sutherland), a retired Force Recon Marine, who shows Milton the secret to finding true happiness.
"I am thrilled with the way the script has grown from the original foundation of the book to the screenplay, and hope this film has the power to contribute to the awakening of consciousness on our planet", said Eckhart Tolle, co-author of Milton's Secret.
Milton’s Secret was filmed in Hamilton, Ontario.  The movie is produced by Buck Productions and Hulo Films.  Producers are Sean Buckley (Defendor, WolfCop, Pretend We’re Kissing) for Buck Productions, Fred Fuchs (The Godfather Part III, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Secret Garden) for Riverside Entertainment, as well as Stephen Huszar and Ryan Lockwood for Hulo Films.  Barnet Bain is the director/writer, with Donald Martin and Sara B Cooper also serving as writers.
The deal was negotiated by Larry Greenberg for Momentum Pictures and Sean Buckley on behalf of Buck Productions.
